JAN 21

Contributed by Carol Mickelsen

The name Buddhist or Buddha is just a name, a label we use to help us communicate in this dimension, since we aren't very telepathic yet. If a person has never heard those names, but still seeks to have compassion for all sentient beings, and seeks to do right actions and right words and all the rest, and is detached from selfish desire, except to help others, then that person is following a path that leads to "Buddha-hood," even if the person doesn't call it that. Calling oneself by a label doesn't make you into that thing. Following dogma, rules, traditions and ceremonies, doesn't make you good, or bad either. It is how you treat others, and yourself, that is the important thing. The Dalai Lama said that all of Buddhism can be summed up in two sentences: If possible, help others. If that is not possible, then at least do no harm, That's my opinion too.

Open your heart and recieve the sunshine and radiate your warmth and loving-kindness to people who come near you. Enjoy the joy and love together with people around you. Life is so short, we wouldn't know when we will meet again to share with each other the love and joy. Treasure each moment that you have with your beloved ones and friends. Tomorrow can be a departing date for anyone from this pure land.

Please enjoy your every moment here on this beautiful and perfect world for we are just coming here for a transit or a holiday. Open up all your senses to recieve the incoming fragrant air from nature. The flowers blosoom for us to enjoy and look at. The breeze that sends by the trees to cool us down. The running streams coming to us like music and the birds bring us the most beautiful songs. What more do we need in this pure land. Acceptance of its beauty raises our enjoyment and fulfillment to the highest. Let us enjoy and share our happiness and peace together. This is most beautiful and highest spritual realm we are at.
