Letting go of the Dark Clouds of Sadness
When the sadness is strong, acknowledge its presence. Visualise sadness as a dark cloud in your head, heart, stomach or wherever you feel the most pain. You could begin to let go by e
xpelling it with your breath. Let the sadness slowly billow out of the body like steam escaping from a teapot. Let it all escape. Feel the relief as you imagine it leaving. Then watch the dark clouds float away, farther and farther and become smaller and smaller in the far distance and finally disappear. Your body and mind feel light, relaxed and at peace. Rest in that feeling. You may repeat the exercise again to make sure.
