Any single object in the open whether is animated or inanimated can be our teacher if our observation is sharp and our mind is clear. 
One day while walking on the path in the forest, I saw an uprooted tree lying at the side. First thing th

at came to my mind was the tree had be blown down by a strong wind during a heavy storm. Next I saw some parts of the tree were rotting and the decay of the roots and branches soon took place.
That reminded me that life is impermanent, any mishap or incident can happen to us. Our life is like a roller skater moving up and ldown with all kinds of events. And we are powerless to foresee and control such an event. The decomposition of the tree makes us realise the disintegration of the four elements ,water, fire, earth and wind. When we die, we will also experience the same procedure of the disintegration of our four elements. This pain could be unbearable. Have we prepared to face such consequences?Only through the learning of the Fourth Noble Truth and the Noble Eightfold Path can we overcome and bear such an event.
