AUG14.3

" Master, I gave up going into Zen for it is gateless. I don't have the IQ and I have not accumulated enough merits to understand the teachings of Zen. I gave up Mahayan teachings, Hinayana teachings, and all the other teachings because the
re are so many books and sutras to learn and to understand. I don't have the intelligence to comprehend all these. Now I go back to what lord Buddha said,' Sit and relax yourself and breath in and out, knowing that you are breathing in and breathing out." I find this simple method is meaningful. I begin to aware how my body system works. I can see my greed, anger, ignorance, unhappiness and all my negativities. I can feel my warmth and coldness of my body. I realise what my senses are doing, either good or bad. I also know this body of mine is decaying and getting older every day. These changes help to know that everything in the world cannot last long, it has its starting and ending stage. I know that I cannot control the movement of my heart and all the functions of other organs. Every day I learn new experience, understanding and knowlege. I think this simple way of learning the dharma is suitable for me."
My master just looked at me and smiled.
