AUG30.7

Some yogis asked, "If it helps to serve others, can we have some prosperous livelihood?"
Milarepa, an enlightened Great Yogi, answered," Yes, if you have no self-cherishing thoughts; but that is very hard! If you are cherishing the desires
for this life, then forget about the idea of serving others, as you are not able to achieve even your own goals. It will be like claiming to save others while you are weak and are being carried away down a stream. Until you have realised the true nature, don't rush to serve others, like the blind leading the blind. As space has no limits, so beings have no limit. If you meditate, then the opportunties for serving others will come. All of you must develop the thought of cherishing others more than yourselves. Make aspirations for attaining buddhahood for the sake of all beings."
