沒有污泥, 開不出清淨蓮花
沒有苦難眾生, 也就沒有菩薩的顯現
Without the dirty and filthy mud pond, the lotus cannot grow and bloom beautifully untainted in the open.
Without all the sentient beings who are bearing the suffering, no bodhisattvas and buddhas will be born to rescue them in the present world.
