it is the fault of living beings that prevent them from seeing the marvelous purity of the land of the Buddha…. The Thus Come One is not to blame. Shariputra, this land of mine is pure, but you fail to see it.
( One day I have a conversation with a young girl who comes to Singapore to study. She does not understand why she can't see worries and difficulties in her life. So I told her that in her past life , she had accumulated enough merits. Now in her mind is nothing but positive of everything, she is just like a buddha living in the Pure Land all the time. Whereas we people suffer and find that this earth is not pure to live on. This is not true. One day when you clear all the defilements, attachment and karma, you will automatically find that this earth is actually pure and serene. Our mind creates our own world.)
