1

Total awareness with concentration in meditation in any form of posture, from moment to moment is essential in assessing your progressive practice. Lacking of awareness in meditation causes you to experience multiple running thoughts and you will soon give up such practice. To tame a tiger is much easier than to tame your mind.

They needed to realise that such happening is due their collective karma and further more to an enlightened one these happenings ( killing of buddhists by the muslims) are just maya, illusion and dream. Those people who are killed are reborned again and they still come back to this world.
Our souls are like energy which cannot be destroyed. Lord Buddha said that we have no death and we just come
and go due to our karmic condition. Of course we feel the pain when we encounter such mishaps. If we can think deeply, there are more people killed in the wars in most part of countries in Middle East nowadays. It is actually a good dharma leassons for us to learn how to appreicate our own live and living and share as much love and loving-kindness to whom who are with you now. ( 2 cents opinion)

A single lamp dispels the darkness of a thousand aeons;
Likewise, a single flash of the mind's clear light
Erases aeons of karmic conditioning and spiritual blindness.
~Buddha

The fool in his ignorance, disdaining Buddha teachings,
Knowing nothing but struggle in the flood of samsara.
Have compassion for those who suffer constant anxiety!
Sick of relenting pain and desiring release, adhere to a master,
For when his blessing touches your heart, the mind is liberated.
~ Buddha

5

Do not create duality from the unique state.
Happiness and misery are one in pure and total presence.
Buddha and beings are one in the nature of mind.
Appearance and beings, the environment and its inhabitants are one in reality.
Even the duality of truth and falsehood are the same in reality.
Do not latch onto happiness; do not eliminate misery.
Thereby everything is accomplished.
Attachment to pleasure brings misery.
Total clarity, being non-conceptual,
Is self-refreshing pristine awareness.

6

Gazing intently into the empty sky, vision ceases;
Likewise, when mind gazes into mind itself,
The train of discursive and conseptual thought ends
And supreme enlightenment is gained.

7

The darkness of a thousand aeons is powerless
To dim the crystal clarity of the sun's heart;
And likewise, aeons of samsara have no power
To veil the clear light of the mind's essense.
~Buddha
